In order to benefit from these agreements, a sector would either have to carry out activities listed in the Pollution Prevention and Reduction (PPC) regulations or be considered an energy-intensive industry meeting certain energy intensity criteria. There are two types of CSFs – ridge agreements and underlying agreements. The definition of the sector is not restrictive, which allows the Land Government to conclude agreements with a particular person, undertaking or group. The Ministry of Energy and Climate Change and industrial sectors have negotiated energy efficiency targets for each sector – the sectoral commitment. The objectives were then incorporated into framework agreements between the interbranch organisations and the Office for the Environment. Roofing agreements also list processes eligible for a CSF.
